             abstract = "This paper presents a reflection of the six editions of the course 
                         {"}Use of Remote Sensing in the Study of the Environment{"}, 
                         offered by the Earth Observation General Coordination of the 
                         National Institute for Space Research. This course is destined to 
                         the update and qualification of teachers of primary and secondary 
                         schools of the Brazil. The objective is to spread out the 
                         techniques and applications of remote sensing in education, and to 
                         encourage the development of environmentals multidisciplinary 
                         projects in schools that make use of space information, applied to
